 Justice/JUSTus (2016)

Born out of a call asking what "mattered" to artists, Justice/JUSTus started by addressing the egregious amount of Black women lost to police violence. Specifically in the case of Sandra Bland.

Choreographer: Andréa Spearman
Dancers:
Olutola Afolayan, Alexandria Spearman, Andréa Spearman, Shanice Whittaker
Music: "Justice's Groove" by Stanley Clarke
Location: Malonga Casquelord Center for the Arts

Since its inception, Justice/JUSTus has continued to expand, much like the list of Black women and girls senselessly killed by police. The names continue to be hashtagged and we continue to honor each slain individual.
